This ends this series from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. Tonight we fly to Michigan from Atlanta for my family's annual July 4th reunion at the lake cottage. Seeing this image of two "partners in crime" playing on the bluff over the ocean, on the other side of Diamond Head, reminds me of all the cousins who will be playing together at the family cottage. I'll see you again on Monday. For all you Americans, have a great holiday weekend!

Here's another week of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. The wedding ceremony had ended and the professional photos were being taken on the beach while the sun was setting. Talk about an idyllic wedding venue! May you have as great a weekend, if possible! [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Here's another week of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. In yesterday's post, I showed you Diamond Head from the air. Grandson Nicholas and I climbed to the top of it the morning of the day we flew back home. This is the lighthouse as seen from on top of the crater. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Here's another week of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. Part of being on Waikiki Beach is feeling the ever-looming Diamond Head presence. Lucky for me, the sky was clear enough to capture this as we left. The strip of high-rises to the left is Waikiki Beach, where we stayed for the week. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Here's another week of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. I don't fancy myself to be a bird or flower photographer like so many of you are. BUT this fella really caught my eye while walking from here to there on Waikiki Beach. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

This is a short series of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. You CANNOT think of Hawaii without thinking of orchids. The Orchid Family is the largest family of flowering plants. MILLIONS of them everywhere! [Today I'm in Atlanta.]

This is a short series of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1. The Hawaii environment has the ability to slow everyone down. Life runs at a more natural pace...on Waikiki Beach, early morning. [Today I'm in Atlanta.]
