Bird of a Feather
Here's another week of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1.
I don't fancy myself to be a bird or flower photographer like so many of you are. BUT this fella really caught my eye while walking from here to there on Waikiki Beach. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Ginnie: Your words are very kind, Klaus. I am a good Gemini in that I have too many interests...more than I can handle.
Beautifully done Ginnie. The touch of light on his back, the background being an ideal colour and the catchlight in his eye. Quality Ma'am

Ginnie: It was definitely a yummy experience for me, Richard.
Gorgeous Blue and Gold Macaw. Did you know that a bird blushes when they get embarrassed? No joke!!

Impressive colourful capture here Ginnie, one thing though, wish your focus was on the head
Ginnie: HA! And I was thankful I got his eye!
Great detail on the feathers and good DOF. Very well done, Ginnie! How is the knee?
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Martin. The knee is doing well and thanks for asking. I am walking like "normal" and am doing my exercises. Stretching the knee to full range of motion will take time, I guess, but I'm seeing progress every day! YAY!
What an absolutely fabulous shot! The detail and colour are remarkable. Bravo! I love this one.
Ginnie: You sure know how to make my day, Alex! Thank you.
After this, I'll fancy you one. The colors and detail, yes. And something about that look on his face.

A lovely bird looking for a shoulder to sit on Ginnie.
Ginnie: I think for sure, Brian. How fun.
Excellent detail and the dof background compliments his colours to a T. Not a bird photographer - Hah!
Ginnie: Well, my confidence is growing after this one, Louis, thanks to people like you. Thank you kindly!
This is a superb image.
Ginnie: You're a sweetheart, Kanyi. Thanks.
You've got all the lovely colors here, but the eyes just don't do it for me. They are kinda creepy.
Ok - A day late, but loving it still. I haven't been on my laptop lately.. Need a break..
Just loving the photo. What a perfect capture, congrats!
Very nice portrait of parrot! The colors are greats!
