Sint Walburgiskerk
The St. Walburgiskerk is a beautiful Gothic church in Zutphen
and is among the biggest churches in Holland, from 1105. From ca. 1046 to 1105 it was called St. Petrus. [Today I'm in Atlanta.]

I like the boats in the foreground, and the way the cloudy sky sets off the spire.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Red Pen. It was our last view of the church before leaving town. What a way to go!
Looks like an interesting church with that unconventional steeple.
I'd like to know what that big brown fin on the boat is. Surely not a rudder in that location?
Ginnie: I'd like to know, too, Martin. I don't have a clue. Maybe Astrid can tell us?
Hi! Ginnie! Here I am! Been I have separated days. Very I am occupied and also a little " cansado". The two together things have caused that there are been " off line" … but… You have already returned from Australia? I will see your blog! A great hug and a kiss!
Ginnie: It's so good to see you again, José-Angel. Welcome back. I've missed you!
Yaeeeeeeh! Ginniiiieeeee e. The boats stole the shoe and left the church in the shade. cool
Ginnie: I could spot you in a crowd, Busola!
Love the fore ground, interesting that the spire of the church looks so different to the rest.I like it
Ginnie: It almost looks like an afterthought, Vintage, doesn't it! Thanks.
The structures are amazing, but in this one the boats capture my attention. They're so unlike anything I've seen in person. A lovely shot.
Ginnie: This was the only place where we got a good view of the church that day, Sherri, so I just decided to leave the boats in! They captivated me as well!
Beautiful!
Church must be a bit of a heavy load for that poor boat, though.
Ginnie: HA! I'm quite sure you're right, Ray!
What a gorgeous scene you have laid out here, Ginnie! Very dramatic.
Ginnie: A lot going on here, I know, Kay. It was our only good view of the church that day, so it was take it or leave it. It ended up being pretty dramatic for me, too. Thanks.
A delightful shot Ginnie. The foreground is delightful & the sjy perfect
Ginnie: And you're a sweetheart, Chris!
lke ciel va bientôt faire tomber des trombes d'eau.
très belle photo
Ginnie: Thank you most kindly, O-P!
It is beautifully framed by the boats.
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir.
Very Nice shot
Ginnie: Thank you, Saeed.
An excellently composed pic with a nice view of the dominating St. Walburgiskerk! But one of the leading role is always playing the Dutch sky (or as Wim would say 'de prachtige wolkenluchten'
Ginnie: Yes, Philine! I can never get away from 'de prachtige wolkenluchten.' Thank you!
There are so many varied examples of Gothic, Ginnie. Wonderful.
Ginnie: Yes, there are, Chad, and this is one of them! Thanks.
A dominant looking church Ginnie... I love the sheen from the water on the front of the boat
My kinda place.Great postcard shot
Ginnie: That glossy sheen was one of my favorite things in this image,Tracy, so leave it to you to mention it! Yes, this is definitely you kind of place.
Very nice composition Ginnie. The church comes out nicely on this beautiful sky. I like the foreground!
Ginnie: It was such a splendid day and POV for this grand church, Richard. Thank you.
Prachtige wolken luchten, we were lucky...this is a postcard.
It was late in the afternoon when we stopped at this harbour, we just wanted to see if we could take at least 'one' picture of the church, we were more than half an hour clicking away here
Ginnie: We had all the time in the world at that moment, Astrid, while the sun was going down. It really was very magical. We really were and are very lucky to have these times of remembrance!
Another great sky to set this picture off Ginnie
Ginnie: You know me well, Bill. I'm such a glutton for Holland's skies. Thanks.
It is nice to see this city, I live in Holland but have never been there
Ginnie: That's how it often happens, Chantal! Other people, tourists, are the ones who see the things in our own backyard. Maybe one day you can see this fine city.
Lots to look at here. Love that sky Ginnie.
Ginnie: There's almost too much to see, Aussie, but it was screaming out to be captured! Thanks.
So much to look at here.
Ginnie: I know, Mary. It's almost overwhelming!
A strange and unusual extension to the tower on this church Ginnie. A bit of 'middle ages' oneupmanship perhaps ;o)
Ginnie: Exactly, Mike. I agree. Thanks.
Lovley shot of the boats an the old Town
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Mirco.
Laughing at Ray's comment. If you ever see those brown fins in action, be sure to snap away! Very nice combination of elements here.
Ginnie: This is when I need Astrid to tell me what they are used for, Ruth! Thanks.
What a fantastic image (will I have to say this everytime I pop over to your blog?
Ginnie: You sure know how to make my day, Karima. Thank you kindly!
Nice framing, and the ships in the foreground making good contrast. I like skys with clouds, nice capture Ginnie
Ginnie: Skies with clouds have so much personality, Klaus!
That tower looks like a voyage of discovery for the designers of it. A voyage on the boat would be much more my cup of tea. richard
Ginnie: So many "voyages" to discover, Richard, and so hard to pick which ones. But yes, I agree about the voyage on the boat. That would be delightful right about now!
great contrast, I like this atmospher. excellent shot!
Ginnie: I love that atmosphere, Arash! Thanks.
Is there such a thing as a canalscape Ginnie, if so this would be one of the best. Love everything about this, great tower on the church, please say you took that on its own.
Ginnie: You know how to make my day, Brian. Thank you!
Beautiful town's picture with the typical dutch boat in front. The boats do make great pictures under sail.
Yes that is a big church
Ginnie: This is why I have fallen in love with Holland, Louis!
I like the framing here and it is an odd looking steeple. Lots of light on the boats and subject makes the dark sky look menacing. Well done.
Ginnie: This image is so much me, Scotia. So very soulful. Thank you.
I like a lot the presence of the boat in the foregrond. That seems to be a nice church!
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Still.
I like that you have placed the tower in middle of the pic
Ginnie: Awww. Your opinion matters to me, Aksel. Thanks.
