Slowing Down
This is a short series of impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1.
The Hawaii environment has the ability to slow everyone down. Life runs at a more natural pace...on Waikiki Beach, early morning. [Today I'm in Atlanta.]

A brilliant shot Ginnie, well captured. Am off to bed in a couple of minutes to dream of a holiday sitting on beach with my feet in the sand
Ginnie: Awwww. It is a wonderful thought, Fotografa! Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
Great shot I would like to do that right now.
Ginnie: Me, too, Vintage.
Looks so inviting..so peaceful..so meditative. Love the warm tones and hues and your processing here.
Ginnie: It totally allured me, Marcie! Thanks.
I love the beach and it's been too long since we've been. Big sigh...love this shot.
Ginnie: Just go, Sherri. It must be in your system.
Great holiday picture, Ginnie.
Your model has dug herself into a beautifully relaxed situation...and, looks like she is writing a letter...do folks still do that?
Ginnie: I loved how her feet were dug into the sand, Ray. And yes, I wondered the same thing about her apparent letter writing. They still do that?!
A wonderful image, which transports me to a similar location, where time slows to a halt and the pieces of life's jigsaw come together.
Ginnie: Exactly, Paul. We all need places like that! Thanks.
This is such a great picture.
Is she writing to a dear friend, a secret lover, a long lost friend or does she write a letter, put it in a bottle, in which is some sand too so the bottle will be straight up in sea and catch wind and sail to unknown destinations...and hope to find the love of her life.....so many questions came into my mind by only that one picture, this is happening with most of your pictures, I see the story behind it... I love the tones.
Ginnie: You are such a great dreamer and story teller, live vriend! And such a romantic, I might add! HA! I should start having you write my text from now on.
Very nice picture,great color
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Zohre.
Lovely.
richard
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir.
That would be a great place to write or sketch or read.
Wonderful shot.
Ginnie: It was very inspiring for me, Michael, because it was early morning before the sun would have been unbearable for me. Thanks.
Wonderful shot Ginnie. I like the beautiful morning lighting!
Ginnie: That early morning sunlight was my favorite time of the day...and it wasn't that early, Richard, around 8:30 or 9a! Thanks.
Lovely Ginnie: koffie on the strand
Ginnie: I wondered if you'd notice, Chris, and I see you did.
sun, fresh air, quietness - only the sea is rushing in a monotone melody- coffie (or coughie for some persons of SC), friendly, intimate thoughts and feelings while writing a letter- on some moments the human being doesn't ever need more! Ginnie, "slow down", "life runs at a more natural pace"- with the best wishes now for you too!
Ginnie: Some of us are old enough to remember letter writing, Philine, aren't we!
Truely amazing this lady is doing what I visualised in a dream last night. After talking to a special friend yesterday my mind was racing yet again
Sitting in your own thoughts and my be writing a journal or a letter to explain your actions...!! Love the muted tones Ginnie.
Ginnie: Awwwww. I must have known, Tracy. Thanks for sharing that.
Looks very early by the shadows, lighting is v nice.
Ginnie: When the sun gets up over Diamond Head, it's not as early as it would seem, Nigel...more like 8:30-9a. It became my favorite time of the day. Thanks.
Very nice capture Ginnie, this photo sorta tells a story, not sure what it is tho. but its nicely captured!
Ginnie: For me it is a story about those days long ago when our only way of communicating long-distance was via letters (or phone). It brought back lots of nostalgia! Thanks, Brian.
How I would lijke to be there Ginnie, with an oranje to eat for ontbijt.
Ginnie: Exactly, Chad. An orange would complete this!
That's just what life should be like - slowing down, taking the time over the little things - if only! Lovely quiet picture, Ginnie.
Ingrid
Ginnie: Many of us remember when life moved at this pace almost everywhere, Ingrid...before computers filled up the spaces of our lives. Oh my. How things have changed!
Nice shot - I am a little jealous
Ginnie: Thanks, Brian. Since you just finished a law exam, I wish I could transport you there!
Oh how I'd like that to be a pic of me right now.
Ginnie: I bet, Aussie. We could all use this from time to time! Thanks.
Lovely capture. Would love to be on a beach in Hawaii right about now
Ginnie: I think a lot of us would love to be there right about now, Kunle.
This brings Mexico memories to me. I'm always the first one up and head to the beach with a coffee and a book. Those long shadows let me know it's early and that, specifically, made me feel this.
Ginnie: Yes, I'm sure this has the same feeling as some places in Mexico, Mary. The sun comes up over Diamond Head by 8:30-9a, so it's not as early as it seems. It became my favorite time of the day! Thanks.
very nice capture of a resting moment
Ginnie: It was exactly what the doctor ordered, Chantal. A moment of stillness.
Lovely lovely capture here Ginnie
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, S&S.
nice shot of a hawaiian lady i quess, great place to be...look at my spanisch 'lazy lady' i just posted, greetings joann/holland 'now out of hospital'
Ginnie: We're both "invalids" of sorts these days, JoAnn. But we're both spunky and will survive.
That looks like just another Hawaiian day at the office
Ginnie: Oh yes, Martin. I'm sure it is.
Really like this Ginnie.
Ginnie: So glad you do, Bridge. Thank you.
I think I need a vacation
Ginnie: HA! Me, too, Hamilton, even though I was just there!
A very natural feeling shot with the fine selection of tones. Looks like a great place to write some notes.
Ginnie: I think notes written here are probably more inspirational, Don!
Couldn't think of a more inviting scenario to sit and write a letter Ginnie. Well seen.
Ginnie: I agree, Brian. Lucky recipient, whoever it might be. Thanks.
" I am writing this quickly as something has just grabbed my foot and is trying to drag me under the sand."
Lovely picture Ginnie
Ginnie: You have seen too many late-night horror movies, Bill.
Thanks.
Oh how I wish that was me, feet buried in the sand. Such a wistful shot, Ginnie.
Ginnie: It IS you, even if in your thoughts, dear Alex!
This is that colour thing that you explained to me last time, but I couldn't find it in PS on your description. If you have a moment, can you xplain again?
Great picture and composition.
Ginnie: I will try to explain it in a private mail, Louis, yes. I hope you have CS3? Thanks.
Ohh, what a wonderful image and moment you've created. I absolutely love this! Perfectimento.
Ginnie: I should have known you'd love this, Ruth. It could be me and that gorgeous new leather journal I just received for my birthday. I would be in heaven!
I like much, Ginnie. The tones, the colors, the light, the composition! Seen very well!
Ginnie: Thank you so kindly, José Angel.
Lovely shot, I feel relax. Nice tones.
Ginnie: Thanks, Arash. We all could use relaxation!
Beautiful lighting and very nice warm colors. The title is perfect. For me this is one of your best photos.
Ginnie: Awwwww. That means the world coming from you, Carsten. Thank you.
Love the way you have framed it Ginnie. Excellent tones too!
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Thomas.
Like the format of the pic - and yes, I can see myself slowing down here....
Ginnie: It sounds like you'll be slowing down soon. Good for you. I wish you a great holiday. Thanks, Aksel.
so evocative, so true to the spirit of "capturing a moment." Love the vingtagey tones.
Ginnie: You always say the nicest things, Karima! Thank you.
I think I need to slow down...
Ginnie: I know exactly what you mean, Lina. Thank you.
The photograph with soul that was very good.
Very natural.
Ginnie: It was VERY soulful for me, Bram. Thanks.
