Twisted Sister
For all the times Astrid has been to Amersterdam in her life, even long before we met, she had never (NOOIT) been to Vondelpark near our apartment.
So we went there for a photo hunt a couple weeks ago. Vondelpark is 120 acres (47 hectares) of urban park in Amsterdam. One of the first things that caught my eye was this ribbon caught in the tall grass! [Today I'm in Atlanta after a great holiday weekend in Michigan with my family.]

Well spotted. I like the intimate view of these colorful grass wannabes.
Ginnie: I felt like a little kid when I saw this, Martin. I'm guessing they were once attached to a balloon? Thanks.
They look like they belong there all their life. Glad to hear you had a great holiday.
Ginnie: They certainly found a comforting resting place, Maria. Thanks.
Great eye! Love the color and the motion in this image. The title is just perfect.
Ginnie: Not many would get the title, Marcie, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Obviously a haven for the colorful ribbon-grass.
Well seen, captured, and presented, Ginnie. You have a great eye for the unusual, wherever you go.
Ginnie: Some things just jump out at us, Ray, don't they!
This is just beautiful, Ginnie. If I don't stop collecting images I'm going to have everyone's site archived
Ginnie: HA! I know what you mean, Sherri. I guess we all learn from each other how to appreciate beauty in different ways. Thanks.
Brede glimlach hier, I had been near the Vondelpark but there seams never 'time' to visit it.
It just is a nice park to wander around, find nice objects to capture like this coloured ribbon, many different colours twisted as ONE ribbon... Indeed mijn vriend you have great eye for these things, like I had a great eye to spot that ice-cream stand.. It was a wonderful day, we both got our pictures.. Glad you had a great time with the family.
Ginnie: Near it but never IN it, I know. So when we walked through those gates, you entered a new world. I like that I was able to see it with you for your first time.

Ginnie: It really caught my eye, Paul.
Man made ribbion grass.lol
Ginnie: Exactly, Vintage.
I like the different colours and stripes, the natural and the artificial ones, I guess that the coloured stripes are the remains of a kind of celebration (wedding, examen...) or a way to express some wishes like in Far East on trees...a nice pic in any case!
Ginnie: You may be right about the celebration after exams, Philine, because there were a LOT of students there that day. Astrid said exams were probably just finished! I pictured balloons once attached to these ribbons! Thanks, as always.
So Ginnie that makes a change you taking Astrid to somewhere new!!

A fine "happen stance" shot that you happened to notice this ribbon and got your fine shot. I really like the pattern of the grass and the color of the ribbon sets it off beautifully.

I like how the foregournd and the background is blurred out in this photo and the colored object is in focus right int he middle.
Lovely colours, and to me there is sorrow in this pic....I guess it's one of those days...
Vondelpark - lots of opportunities to take pictures of cycling dutch where they are not supposed to be cycling. Great picture and strange title.
